Founded in 1988 as Hambro European Ventures; bought out from Hambros in 1998 and changed name to Duke Street Capital. Offices in London and Paris.

Peter Taylor who co-founded Duke Street when it was bought out from Hambros in 1998.
Owner-Managed
Duke Street employs some 45 people, including 13 partners. Thirty of the partners and employees own shares in the business.

Funds under management
More than €2 billion of committed capital in a range of 10-year funds. The latest fund is DS VI, which closed in 2007 at €960m, including €26 million committed by the team.
Carried interest
28 participants (so far) in carried interest in DS VI. No individual holds more than 10%.
Current investments
14 companies in six sectors, with a combined turnover of €2 billion and employ over 30,000 staff. Total number of investments is 45 in 20 years.
Average annual returns on investment in our companies is more than 25% per annum.
Investors in our funds
Traditionally investors in our funds were largely drawn from the US and Europe, particularly the UK and France. Increasingly we are attracting investors from Asia and the Middle East, including new limited partners in our latest fund from Japan and Korea.
