Buchan joined Duke Street in 1999 from Xansa, a listed business technology services provider where he focussed on business development. Prior to 1993, he worked for the City law firm, Herbert Smith, specialising in corporate finance and transactional work, including private equity and working on major deals, such as the original financing of Eurotunnel and the privatisation of the water industry. At Duke Street, Buchan is responsible for fundraising including DS VI, which closed at nearly €1 billion. He also oversees marketing and investor relations and has been at the forefront of the debate about private equity and transparency. He has a degree in law from Durham University, an MBA from Strathclyde University.

“Duke Street is an unstuffy and fast-moving work environment.”
