Jean Garbois

“Formerly Head of Private Banking at Fortis, Vice Chairman and General Manager of Banque OBC”

Jean’s background is mainly private banking where he began his career at Crédit du Nord, spending 22 years at the firm, becoming Directeur Central and member of the Executive Board. He left Crédit du Nord and became Vice Chairman and General Manager of Banque OBC, a highly respected private bank and part of ABN AMRO. Prior to joining Duke Street, Jean was the Head of Private Banking at Fortis in France.

Jean is a former member of the French Banking Association board, Chairman of the Group of Foreign Banks in France and Chairman of Office de Coordination Bancaire et Financiere (OCBF). He was recently appointed special adviser on private banking to Bernard Pouy, Chief Executive of two banks belonging to Groupama (Finama and Groupama Banque).
