Peter Taylor

Peter joined Duke Street in 1996 from Vardon plc and has played a key role in establishing our reputation as a decisive, straightforward partner for managers. In 2002 he took over day-to-day control of private equity activity and was formally appointed Managing Partner in 2004.

He began his career with Deloitte Haskins & Sells in 1985 and in 1989 joined Bridgepoint where he worked on a range of UK buyouts and development capital transactions, including two alongside Duke Street.

In 1992, he joined Sea Life Centres (a Bridgepoint investee company) as Finance Director. He oversaw its sale to Vardon plc in the same year and was closely involved in the ongoing development of Vardon into a £150 million leisure group.

A specialist in the Consumer sector he has worked on numerous Duke Street transactions, among them Oasis Dental Care, Sporting Index and Gala. Crucially, he has built the foundations we operate from now, including a cohesive, talented team, a renowned franchise in the leisure sector and the integration of our Operating Partners to create the unique and highly effective Duke Street Triangle.
